Learning LIVE session

We’re excited to be part of a SALTEX Learning LIVE session, where we’ll share our expertise to support others in the industry. Simon Gumbrill (Global Key Accounts, SGL) and Scott Tingley (Grounds Manager, Watford F.C.) will be discussing pitch technology for grass disease management in a stadia environment. They’ll provide valuable insights and share their own experiences on this important topic.

This free-to-attend session takes place on Wednesday, 30 October, from 13:00 to 13:30 on the Spotlight Stage.

Simon Gumbrill

Simon is Global Key Accounts Manager at SGL and has been responsible for sales in the UK, Ireland and North America. Simon has an extensive background in pitch and turf care. Before joining SGL, Simon was Sales Director of Campey Turfcare, where he developed a large network within the turfgrass industry. Simon’s enjoyment in work comes from seeing improvement and progression made by groundsmen, who embrace new technologies and adapt to the increased demands and expectations of playing surfaces.

During the learning LIVE session, Simon will elaborate on grass disease management and the latest technology helping ground teams to effectively control grass diseases.

Scott Tingley

Scott is a widely respected grounds manager in the industry and responsible for the management of playing surfaces at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Stadium and the London Colney Training Centre. He also serves as the Lead Pitch Consultant for Italian Serie A club Udinese Calcio. Scott has been widely praised for his work, winning the Premier League Grounds Team of the Year in 2017/2018, the EFL Championship Grounds Team of the Year in 2020/2021, and the Serie A Most Valuable Field award in 2021/2022.

During the learning live session, Scott will talk more about his experience with grass diseases, share his best practices in grass disease control and answer any questions you might have.
