About the SGL Showcase

With successful editions last year at NK Osijek’s Opus Arena in Croatia, and Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge. It’s now time for the SGL Showcase to be hosted at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille.

During this unique event, we’ll showcase ways of high-level pitch management with a focus on LED grow lighting. Highly regarded (guest) speakers will share their knowledge and experience through practical examples. During the pitch visit and live demos, you will see the latest technology in action. And of course, there will be plenty of time to network with fellow industry professionals.

Olympique de Marseille

Olympique de Marseille (OM) is one of France’s most celebrated and historic football clubs. Founded in 1899, the club has built a legacy of success, including multiple Ligue 1 titles and a historic UEFA Champions League victory in 1993—the only French club to achieve this feat. Known for its fierce rivalries, most notably with Paris Saint-Germain in “Le Classique,” OM commands one of the most passionate and loyal fan bases in world football. Orange Vélodrome

The Orange Vélodrome is one of France’s most famous stadiums and a symbol of Marseille’s sporting culture. First opened in 1937, it has been renovated multiple times, most notably ahead of major international tournaments like the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship. With a capacity of over 67,000, the stadium is known for its distinctive curved roof and intense matchday atmosphere. Guest speakers

Peter Sauer – F.C. Bayern Munich

He used to sit in the stands as a fan, but now Peter Sauer is responsible for the field at F.C. Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena. Since May 1, 2023, he has been employed by his favorite club, which recruited him from VFL Wolfsburg. He had worked at VFL Wolfsburg since 2015 and successfully so, winning multiple ‘Pitch of the Year’ awards in the Bundesliga. Before that, he was responsible for the fields at TSG Hoffenheim.

Peter Sauer is known as one of the best groundsmen out there. Last season, Sauer achieved an excellent performance by maintaining a pitch quality of over 92% throughout the year. Additionally, they managed to save 39% energy at the Allianz Arena by using LED grow lighting! Peter Sauer is therefore rightly considered an expert in LED grow lighting, energy saving, and maintaining pitch quality.

Commercial parties are not allowed to participate in this event.
SGL reserves the right, at any time, to decline event registrations or close registrations early if it deems the number of registrations to be excessive.
A maximum of 2 people per club/venue/company is allowed to participate.
If the maximum number of registrants is reached, SGL reserves the right to place individuals on a waiting list until new availability arises.
Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participation in the programme is free of charge.
SGL offers a hotel option, but you are responsible for booking and payment of the hotel. The booking link will be shared with you later by email.
Transport to and from the event has to be arranged by yourself and are at your own expense.
