The position

We are seeking a driven and commercially minded Area Manager – West Coast US to grow our stadium business and strengthen our presence within the professional sports market. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and expanding SGL’s footprint across stadiums, sports clubs, and sports facilities.

This role requires a strong sales mindset, the ability to build long-term relationships, and a willingness to travel extensively across the West Coast.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new business opportunities with stadiums, sports clubs, and sports facilities (NFL, MLB, MLS, Colleges (NCAA).
• Manage and grow existing accounts within the traditional stadium market.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders + decision makers in the sports industry.
• Manage sales cycles from initial contact to long-term partnerships.
• Drive upselling opportunities and increase customer value.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM management.
• Collaborate with Area Managers, Service Engineers, and the international sales team.
• Travel across the West Coast to visit customers and prospects.

Your profile

We are looking for a pragmatic, product-minded engineer who enjoys building polished software and improving complex systems over time. You should be comfortable working in an environment where multiple technologies coexist and where strong engineering judgment matters more than attachment to any single tool.

Your qualifications

• Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management within a B2B or B2C environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with a track record of acquiring new business and growing existing accounts.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles and building long-term customer relationships.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to open new doors and build a network within the sports industry or related markets.
• Self-starter with a proactive, driven, and result-oriented approach.
• Experience working with CRM systems, sales forecasting, and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the West Coast USA and occasionally internationally. 
• Fluent in English.

Preferred skills

• Experience working with professional sports facilities, stadiums, or performance-related products.
• Existing network within the sports industry (e.g. teams, leagues, sports organisations, or partners).
• Background in sports, agriculture, horticulture, or a related industry.
