Glenn Kirby, Director of Research at STRI Group

Glenn Kirby is Director of Research at STRI Group, bringing decades of experience across turf management, applied research and industry leadership. His career spans hands-on roles as a turf manager, a senior technical position at Syngenta, and his current role guiding research at one of the world’s most respected turf science organisations. Glenn is widely regarded as a leading authority in the field and adds clear gravitas to any technical programme.

At the event, Glenn will focus on Daily Light Integral (DLI), placing light firmly in context as one of the most influential yet least consistently measured inputs in turf performance. His session will set a strong scientific foundation for the day and provide valuable context for wider discussions on lighting strategies and managing light-related stress.

OBI Sports

The company’s team of experienced agronomists supports world‑class facilities with services ranging from design and project management to construction oversight, routine agronomy advice, and independent surface performance testing. They work with major sporting organisations and stadiums, helping ensure pitches meet technical standards and perform at the highest level.
