Service information

At SGL, we design our products to deliver reliable performance over many years. The expected lifespan below is based on proper maintenance and calculated from the date of manufacture.

Stefan Staijen, SGL Service Engineer, works on the LED50.

Product lifecycle overview

Reaching the indicated lifespan does not mean your product will cease to function. Beyond this point, the components of the relevant product will no longer be covered under the service contract, and SGL cannot guarantee the availability of spare parts. Any replacement parts required after this period will be invoiced separately. Yearly maintenance and repairs will remain fully covered under the service contract.

Customer responsibilities

To ensure optimal performance, safety and reliability of SGL equipment between scheduled service visits, customers are expected to carry out the following routine activities.

General

  • Keep plugs and connectors clean and dry. Do not connect equipment if dirt or moisture is present.
  • Visually inspect cables and connectors for damage before use.
  • Test residual current devices (RCDs) every six months to ensure proper functionality.
  • Report unusual noises, alarms, smells, or visible damage to SGL.

Lighting Units

  • Keep LED lens plates, HPS bulbs, and HPS & IR reflectors clean using microfiber cloths and demineralized water.
  • Visually inspect LED luminaire filters for dirt and contamination.
  • SGL replaces LED filters during scheduled annual service visits.
  • If replacement of filters is required before the scheduled service visit, new filters can be requested from SGL and replaced by the customer.

Electric Drive

  • Charge the battery if the unit is inactive for longer than a month.
  • Only use chargers supplied or approved by SGL.
  • Keep drive wheels free from grass, mud, and debris.
  • Visually inspect the drive system for damage or abnormal wear before use.
  • Remove and replace remote control batteries if necessary, during long periods of inactivity.
  • Always use alkaline batteries when replacing remote control batteries.

TC/TF50

  • Prepare the TC50 for winter conditions.
  • Drain water from the pump, filter, and hoses before freezing temperatures occur.
  • Clean waterfilters regularly.
  • Inspect hoses and connections for leakage or damage before use.
  • Clean fan blades in case of severe contamination.

TurfRobot & UVC180

  • Recharge the batteries after each use and if the system indicates that the battery is low and needs to be charged.
  • Charge the batteries at least once per month during periods of inactivity for UVC180, and every 3 months for TurfRobot.
  • Store the TurfRobot and UVC180 in a dry, frost-free environment.
  • Only use chargers supplied or approved by SGL.
  • Keep UVC bulbs and reflectors clean using microfiber cloths and demineralized water.
  • Never clean UVC bulbs while the system is powered on.
