SGL and Johan Cruijff ArenA join forces in pursuit of energy savings
Over a year ago, the ArenA decided to completely replace their conventional HPS grow lighting system to a full SGL LED system and was able to save 6% on the total yearly energy consumption of the stadium (which equals roughly the annual power consumption of 150 Dutch households).

A farewell to our walking encyclopaedia
His extensive knowledge, earning him the nickname ‘the walking encyclopaedia’, his passion for grass, and we’ll even miss the ‘lash of Geer’. After 15 years, it’s time for Gerard van ’t Klooster to say goodbye to SGL and enjoy his retirement. “It has been a beautiful ride, an experience they can’t take from me. And well, there are more people with knowledge. It’s not just that ‘crazy’ van ’t Klooster who knows a lot.”
